I had this tattoo done in March this year by Colin at Mikes Tattoos, Carlisle. I chose to get Stitch as this time last year I had to go through a very hard time of my life and my boyfriend at the time bought me a soft toy of Stitch from Lilo and Stitch. Stitch became my rock, the one I could cuddle when I was away from my boyfriend, the one I could cry into. I decided to get the tattoo as a symbol of me being able to come out the other side of my depression and am stronger for it :)

At first glance I thought it said ‘Obama’ underneath and was so confused

A pair of swallows. A letter-bringer, a correspondence, a winged compass to lead the sailors home. Swallows are seabirds (their cousins— the sparrows, brown and not blue, are of land), and the line between flying and floating is traversed. This is a movement to move. I am a great migration within myself.

The worst part is the first day when the teacher asks you to introduce yourself to the rest of the class and tell everyone your area of specialty and you say, “Genetics.”

This is my second tattoo. Salvador Dali is my favorite painter and this figure is from one of his paintings. I absolutely love it. For me it signifies feminine beauty. My dad, Marco Mejia does my tattoos and I am sooo lucky. I absolutely love my tattoo <3
