Amigo, I’m fairly certain nobody said you have to be an educator. You don’t have to hold that position. If you want to teach, so be it, that’s the path you’ve chosen. You don’t get health insurance? Buy it. Get another job or get a different job and buy it yourself. That’s what a member of my family had to do. That’s what people do. You don’t like where you’re at? Change it. … and after a quick Google search, the average adjunct professor earns about $49,000 per year. Little better than minimum wage, right?

Listen, I think it’s great that you want to spend your life educating others. That’s a very noble cause, but with that said, you also know what being a teacher entails. You knew going into this that teachers don’t make the greatest wages and in some lines of work, you wouldn’t be supported (through the American taxpayers in public education systems) with health insurance and vacation days.

I don’t know exactly what you hope will come of being part of the “99%,” but I certainly hope you’re not looking for government to say “oh, the outrage!” and gift you what you think you deserve.

just leaving this here…… and for what it’s worth, Occupy Baltimore looks like a homeless flea market. pretty sure no one is sleeping in those tents.

So because our nation refuses to prioritize education, people should just give up the idea of bettering future generations
